realme C21 and C25 are first smartphones to get TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High Reliability certification

realme already confirmed the launch of new realme C series phones on April 8th. At the realme x TÜV Rheinland Quality Standards Launch Event today, realme announced that realme C21 and realme C25 are the first smartphones to obtain the TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High Reliability Certification, based on the initial 3-year smartphone life cycle experience.

realme said that it has been working with TÜV Rheinland on a reliability certification to bring their quality control procedures to the next level. realme is the first smartphone brand in the world to get TÜV Rheinland High Reliability Certification. The company said that they will be using this set of quality standard procedures to do quality control and tests across all of the realme smartphones.

TÜV Rheinland quality certification

After over eight months of research and testing, TÜV Rheinland and realme jointly created the TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High Reliability Certification, which serves as the leading industry standard for major markets worldwide.

The TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High Reliability Certification process encompasses 23 major tests, including ten daily use test scenarios, such as drop, wear, and tear; seven extreme environment test scenarios, including super extreme temperature, extreme humidity, voltage fluctuation, button life, static electricity, air pressure; and six component reliability test scenarios.

Smart factory, aiming to be fully automated in the near future

realme has been investing in the smart factory that aims to be fully automated in the near future. One such automation example is the SMT production line, which is responsible for putting components onto the PCB motherboard. The current automation rate in the smart factory is 87.5%, which is already way above the industry standards.

Quality Control team has a veto right to reject the inferior quality products

There is a 6-stage smartphone design process based on which smartphones are designed, developed, and tested in the factory. The Quality Control team is involved in every step of checking on the product quality.

At any given point, if the product fails to meet the quality standards, the Quality Control team has a veto right to reject the inferior quality product, and the rejected products are redesigned from scratch. Thanks to the AI automation capability, the current realme AI smart factory can produce 60 million devices every year.

Quality designed for digital natives

Based on the hobbies of the young users, especially towards travel and outdoor extreme sports, realme has done additional and vigorous tests in related environmental settings. To withstand accidental drops that happen in popular outdoor sports such as skateboarding and parkour, the products were made to go through more aggressive drop tests at a height up to 1.8 meters and at multiple sides on different surface materials. As for travel, realme also simulated extreme temperatures from negative 40 degrees Celsius to 75 degrees Celsius in an outdoor environmental setting to make sure all realme products can withstand harsh conditions.

Commenting on the occasion, Madhav Sheth, Vice President, realme and Chief Executive Officer, realme India and Europe said:

We are also pleased to announce that we have partnered with the world-renowned authority in quality TÜV Rheinland and have worked together with them to set new, upgraded quality standards for smartphones. TÜV Rheinland and realme have jointly created the TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High Reliability Certification, which will serve as the leading industry standard for major markets worldwide. realme C21 and realme C25 will be the first smartphones which will have TÜV Rheinland High Reliability Certification.
