HP 8 Tablet with 7.85-inch display, Android 4.2 launched in the US for $169.99


HP 8 tablet

HP has launched HP 8, a 7.85-inch tablet in the U.S. It has a 7.85-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) IPS multitouch display, powered by a quad-core Allwinner A31s  processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has WiFi, but lacks a SIM card slot, so you lose voice calling capabilities.

It has stereo speakers on the back and packs 1GB of RAM and 3800 mAh battery. It has Kingsoft Office, to access, edit, and share files, HP Connected Photo powered by Snapfish, 25GB lifetime cloud storage from Box and HP ePrint. The company launched three tablets in the Compaq series with Allwinner CPUs last year for the Chinese market last year, but this doesn’t have Compaq branding on the back.
