Easily the most awaited app launch for Windows Phone is here. Yes, Instagram is now available for download on the Windows Phone 8 platform. It has been conveniently labeled a “BETA” as it most definitely lacks video support at launch, but if the developers at Instagram are to be believed, the new feature are coming in fast, so there’s no reason to worry. Just ahead of the holiday season, it’s good that Windows Phone finally has the most wanted app, even though in a public BETA, on it’s store.

The app, modeled on Windows Phone’s flat metro design, looks great and performs well in the limited time I had with the device. The abysmal PR that went out before the app’s release had actually mentioned that there is no Photo or Video taking support for the app at launch. While the latter is true, the former is not, the app can indeed take pictures, but just not with its own viewfinder, yet. We are guessing there are plans to have an Instagram camera lens app, so that feature possibly had to wait. Here are all the features of the Instagram BETA app for Windows Phone –

Features

• 100% free custom designed filters: XPro-II, Earlybird, Rise, Amaro, Hudson, Lo-fi, Sutro, Toaster, Brannan, Inkwell, Walden, Hefe, Nashville, 1977, and others.
* Video recording with breathtaking cinematic stabilization
• Linear and Radial Tilt-Shift blur effects for extra depth of field.
• Instant sharing to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and Foursquare
• Unlimited uploads
• Interact with friends through giving & receiving likes and comments
• Full front & back camera support
• And much much more…

There you go, folks. Windows Phone finally gains the most loved and used Instagram app, which should make a lot of users happy, even though a third party alternative has been able to provide something better till now, but hey, an official app is always better. You will possibly get the new features soon in an update as it is a continuously evolving beta, so grab it from the store and let us know what you think of this new app, in the comments section below.
