Facebook started rolling out an updated Messenger app for Android with a new design and a faster experience few weeks back for select users, now the iPhone has been updated to a new version that brings a similar design. This version has also been updated for iOS7 with custom in-app sounds. The startup time and overall speed and performance have also be improved. Now you can just tap across the bottom of the app to switch between the conversations, people and settings tabs.
Facebook has also started rolling out the new update for Android users more widely. Facebook has promised that they will continue to improve speed and performance of the Messenger.
