LG Fireweb running Firefox OS launched in Brazil

LG has launched Fireweb, the company’s first smartphone running on Firefox OS for Telefónica in Brazil. This has a 4-inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on the latest Firefox 1.1 OS that brings MMS, better Search, performance improvements and more. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash that supports VGA video recording. It has 3G connectivity and packs a 1540 mAh battery.

The Firefox OS has built-in social integration with Facebook and Twitter, HERE Maps with offline capabilities, much-loved features like the Firefox Web browser, the Firefox Marketplace with apps and games like Badoo, Box, EA games like Poppit, Facebook, KAYAK, SoundCloud, The Weather Channel, TimeOut, TMZ, Tuenti and more. Check out the official demo of the LG Fireweb from Firefox.

The LG Fireweb would be available from Telefonica starting today priced at 449 Brazilian Real (~Rs. 12,700). The operator would launch Firefox OS phones soon in Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay. Mozilla says they are working with more than 20 hardware and operator partners to bring more Firefox OS devices.
