Mozilla announced the Firefox OS along with phones and operator partners earlier this year at the MWC 2013. The Firefox developer devices Keon and Peak manufactured by Spanish company GeeksPhone went on sale in April. Now the company has announced a press event in partnership with Hon Hai / Foxconn in Taipei next Monday, June 3rd to unveil new devices running on Firefox OS.

A recent report from The Wall Street Journal claims that Foxconn is moving to add new clients since their biggest client Apple is losing market share in the smartphone and tablet market. The report also says that Foxconn is also planning to release own branded accessories.

No details about the what we can see at the event. It is also no clear if the device would be Foxconn branded or Firefox banded device with Foxconn just being a hardware partner. According to Focus Taiwan’s insider we can see a Tablet based on Firefox OS.
