Google has expanded personalized image generation capabilities in the Gemini app to more users in the United States by integrating Personal Intelligence with Nano Banana and Google Photos.
Personalized image generation with Personal Intelligence
According to David Sharon, Group Product Manager and Multimodal Generation Lead for the Gemini app, Personal Intelligence uses information from connected Google services to provide more relevant and personalized responses.
With user permission, Gemini can access information from:
- Gmail
- Google Photos
- YouTube
- Google Search

The integration allows Gemini to generate images that reflect a user’s preferences, interests, and lifestyle based on information available through connected Google apps. Users can create personalized images using simple prompts, such as:
- “Design my dream house”
- “Create an illustration of me and my favorite things”
Gemini can also use images of users stored in Google Photos, removing the need to manually upload photos for personalized image generation. Google said Gemini uses context from connected Google apps to reduce the amount of information users need to provide in prompts.
Connecting Google apps to Gemini remains an opt-in feature, and users can review or change these permissions at any time through Gemini settings.
Availability
Starting June 29, 2026, personalized image generation in Gemini is available for free to all eligible users in the United States.
