Hisense partners with Sonovision to expand retail footprint in South India

Hisense India, popular for its consumer electronics and home appliances, has announced a strategic offline retail partnership with Sonovision. This collaboration is aimed at accelerating the brand’s market expansion across South India, making its product portfolio available across more than 86 Sonovision stores throughout Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Under this new alliance, Sonovision will retail Hisense’s complete range of televisions and air conditioners, as well as its upcoming lineups of washing machines and refrigerators.

Capitalizing on Regional Market Growth

The partnership aligns with shifting consumer trends in the region. According to a recent Nielsen India Internet Report, 25% of households in South India now own a smart TV, indicating a rising demand for IoT-enabled devices and large-screen home entertainment ecosystems.

By leveraging Sonovision’s established retail network, Hisense India aims to improve accessibility to its premium product range in these high-growth markets.

Strategic Supply Chain Advantages

This retail expansion follows the recent inauguration of Hisense’s first state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The proximity of this manufacturing hub to the target market is expected to provide Hisense India with distinct logistical and supply chain advantages, ensuring efficient inventory management and product delivery across the region.

Key Takeaway: The combination of a localized manufacturing facility in Sri City and a robust retail partnership with Sonovision strengthens Hisense’s regional supply chain and market penetration.

Strengthening the Offline Retail Network

Sonovision is a major electronics retail chain in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, known for its extensive footprint and customer-centric service. Integrating Hisense’s globally recognized appliances into Sonovision’s inventory allows local consumers direct access to the brand’s latest technology.

This alliance is part of a broader strategy by Hisense India to systematically enhance its offline retail and after-sales service networks through high-impact collaborations. Throughout 2026, the company has continuously scaled its national and regional footprint.

The partnership with Sonovision builds upon Hisense India’s existing nationwide retail network, which already includes established alliances with prominent chains such as Reliance Digital, Sathya Agencies, Nandilath G-Mart, Great Eastern Retail, Patra Electronics, and a wide network of authorized dealers nationwide.

Pankaj Rana, CEO of Hisense India, said:

Expanding our offline presence is helping us build a deeper understanding of evolving consumer preferences across India, especially in South India where demand for premium entertainment and smart home solutions is growing rapidly. Consumers today are looking for products that are designed around their everyday lifestyles, whether it is powerful cooling solutions suited for Indian climatic conditions, connected appliances for modern households, or immersive large-screen experiences for movie lovers and gaming enthusiasts. Through our partnership with Sonovision, we aim to bring these globally advanced and locally relevant innovations closer to consumers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while strengthening our retail and service presence in the region.

Commenting on the partnership, Bhasker Murthy, Managing Director, Sonovision, said:

We are excited to partner with Hisense India and introduce its globally acclaimed range of televisions and home appliances across our retail network. Hisense’s focus on innovation, quality, and value aligns perfectly with the expectations of consumers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. We look forward to building a strong and successful association together.
