Lumio today announced the rollout of the Android 14 update across its Lumio Vision TV lineup starting this week. The company confirmed that the update for Lumio Arc projectors will follow shortly in the following month, positioning Lumio as the first brand to deliver a portfolio-wide Android 14 update.
Performance and Interface Enhancements
The Android 14 release prioritizes improvements in system performance, stability, and general usability while maintaining the core Google TV interface. This update is being deployed alongside the new Google TV launcher update across all Lumio devices.
A significant change is the refreshed system interface, which now utilizes Material UI design. This update creates a unified layout for picture settings, menus, and pop-ups, aiming to provide a cleaner visual experience when adjusting sound profiles or system options. Additionally, the update reports up to 30% faster performance for Google Assistant voice interactions.
Streamlined Setup and Connectivity
The update introduces a revised setup process designed to be up to 50% faster for new installations. This new method utilizes Android Instant Apps and iOS App Clips, allowing users to complete the initial setup by scanning a QR code on the TV screen. This eliminates the requirement to install the Google Home app or other additional software during the first run.
For connectivity, a “Quick Connect WiFi” feature has been added, enabling guests to connect to the home network via a QR code rather than manually entering passwords.
Power Management and Accessibility
Android 14 brings granular control over power consumption and device behavior. Users can now select from multiple energy profiles—Low, Optimized, and Increased—to balance power usage with performance needs, such as faster casting or smart home connectivity.
Addressing user feedback regarding input management, a new power-on behavior option allows the TV to boot directly into the last used input (such as HDMI). This feature is designed to streamline the experience for users who primarily utilize external devices like set-top boxes or gaming consoles.
Security and Accessibility
The update includes new accessibility options, specifically adding color correction support for users with color vision deficiencies. Regarding system security, the update delivers the latest Google security patch, dated January 1, 2026, to protect against recent vulnerabilities.
Android 14 roll out details for Vision TVs and Arc projectors
For existing customers, the update will be distributed via a phased over-the-air rollout beginning February 14th. Lumio Arc users can expect to receive the update in March.
All new Lumio Vision TVs shipped since the beginning of February feature Google TV powered by Android 14 out of the box. The Lumio Vision TV series is available on Amazon.in and Flipkart.
Regarding the update, Sudeep Sahu, Head of Product, Lumio, said:
Delivering fast, reliable and long-lasting software experiences is a core part of how we build Lumio products. These Android 14 updates across our entire Lumio Vision and Arc portfolio reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and long-term customer value for existing customers.
