OPPO and Google deepen AI collaboration ahead of Find X9 series global launch

OPPO has announced an expanded collaboration with Google, focusing on redefining personalized and secure mobile AI. The partnership aims to advance AI capabilities, model deployment, and user privacy, ultimately delivering more intuitive, secure, and comprehensive mobile AI experiences globally.

Debut on upcoming OPPO Find X9 Series

The full suite of breakthrough AI features stemming from this collaboration is slated to debut on the upcoming OPPO Find X9 Series and the ColorOS 16 update for OPPO flagship devices that is all set to launch globally tomorrow and in India in the coming weeks.

AI Mind Space Integration with Gemini

A central component of the collaboration is OPPO’s new app, AI Mind Space, which will be available on the Find X9 Series. This feature is designed to help users capture and organize information more intuitively.

  • Simple Capture: A three-finger swipe enables users to save on-screen content—including text, images, or web pages—directly into a unified hub.
  • Automatic Organization: AI Mind Space automatically categorizes the saved content, providing a single, organized location for all user ideas and information.

To realize its full potential, AI Mind Space is connected with Gemini. This integration allows Gemini to draw information and assist users in taking action based on the saved content.

Users maintain control by choosing precisely what Gemini can access from within AI Mind Space. For example, a user planning a trip can save relevant articles and notes and then instruct Gemini to create a detailed itinerary using the saved material.

Gemini Features on OPPO Find X9 Series

In addition to the AI Mind Space integration, users on the OPPO Find X9 Series will be able to leverage Gemini for a variety of tasks:

  • Cross-App Connectivity: Users can chat with Gemini to connect to other OPPO applications, share screen content or camera views for assistance, or edit photos.
  • Gemini Live: This feature allows users to share their phone’s camera or screen to get assistance with tasks like organizing storage or receiving step-by-step guidance for fixing common household items, such as a coffee machine. Gemini can provide visual guidance by highlighting elements directly on the screen.
  • Nano Banana Image Editing: For photo editing, users can access the new image editing model, Nano Banana, to enhance generated or uploaded images with creative edits using simple prompts.
Commitment to Privacy and Trust

The design of this collaboration between OPPO and Google places user privacy as a core principle. The solution utilizes the OPPO AI Private Computing Cloud (PCC), which incorporates Google Cloud’s confidential computing services.

This architecture ensures that sensitive data used for AI processing is managed within a secure and encrypted environment, rendering it inaccessible to any third party, including OPPO itself.

Core features such as AI Mind Space, AI Search, AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, AI Recorder, and AI Writer all operate within this secure framework, intended to give users confidence in the privacy of their personal data while utilizing intelligent services.

Launch Incentives

Purchasers of the OPPO Find X9 or Find X9 Pro will receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Google AI Pro. This subscription includes enhanced access to new and powerful features in Gemini, along with 2TB of cloud storage.

Commenting on this, Kai Tang, President of Software Engineering at OPPO, said:

Working closely with partners like Google allows us to integrate next-generation AI experiences that are not only powerful but also highly personalised and secure. Our goal is to provide users with an AI assistant that truly understands their personal needs and is also worthy of being entrusted with their personal data.
