
At the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, Reliance Jio introduced the new Safety-First capability for its JioBharat phones, designed to make family communication more secure and reliable. The feature combines smart connectivity and digital care within Jio’s affordable 4G phone platform to help families stay connected and protected.
JioBharat: Smart Safety Features for Everyday Use
The JioBharat Safety-First solution offers a simple, secure way for families to stay close to children, elderly parents, and dependents — even from a distance. Jio refers to this safety suite as “Safety Shield.”

- Location Monitoring: Provides real-time updates on a loved one’s location.
- Usage Manager: Lets guardians control who can call or message, block unknown numbers, and restrict access to distractions.
- Phone & Service Health: Shares live details on battery level and network strength to ensure consistent connectivity.
- Always Available: Up to 7-day battery backup ensures uninterrupted access anytime, anywhere.

Designed for Indian Households
- For Children: Enables safe communication without social media exposure, with call and location control.
- For Elderly Parents: Offers a simple interface with health and location updates for reassurance.
- For Women: Acts as a reliable companion that ensures safety and connectivity.

At IMC25, Jio demonstrated real-life use cases showing how these features provide safety, comfort, and peace of mind for families — reinforcing its commitment to Technology for Every Indian.
Availability and Pricing
The JioBharat Safety-First phones are priced at Rs. 799 and will be available through multiple channels, including:
- Jio Stores and leading mobile retailers
- Online platforms such as JioMart, Amazon, and Swiggy Instamart
While Jio has not disclosed detailed hardware specifications, it confirmed that the phones can be registered and managed via the JioThings app, available on Android and iOS. The phone was showcased in a blue colour variant at IMC 2025.
