vivo Vision Explorer Edition MR headset with dual 8K Micro-OLED displays, Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 announced

vivo has unveiled the Vision Explorer Edition mixed reality headset in China, entering the immersive computing segment with a lightweight and compact design. The device weighs 398 g, measures 83 mm in height and 40 mm in thickness, and features a mirrored front panel with a hidden “floating micro-gap” structure.

Ergonomic refinements include a facial support zone for balanced weight, four interchangeable light-blocking shields with foam padding, and a dual-ring strap that adjusts independently at the top and bottom for stability during extended sessions.

For visuals, the headset uses dual 8K Micro-OLED panels with 3840×3552 resolution per eye, covering the P3 color gamut. Binocular calibration ensures color consistency within ΔE<2, and magnetic prescription lenses support 100–1000 diopters.

The setup provides a 180° panoramic view with spatial audio, a virtual 120-foot cinema screen repositionable with gestures, and multi-device casting for shared experiences. It is powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform, paired with vivo’s Blue Ocean power management system for extended battery life.
