LG’s webOS Gaming Portal expands with New Features and Games

LG is upgrading its Gaming Portal, transforming webOS-powered TVs and devices into a comprehensive gaming platform. Now available in over 30 countries, the portal offers a wide selection of both native webOS games and high-end AAA titles.

Enhanced User Experience and Cloud Gaming

The updated user experience (UX), which is rolling out across regions, simplifies the process of finding and playing games. A new “Play with Gamepad” menu allows players to easily select their preferred cloud gaming service, such as Amazon Luna, Blacknut, Boosteroid, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, providing instant access to a vast library of titles.

In a recent collaboration with NVIDIA, LG TVs became the first in the world to support 4K 120Hz with HDR cloud gaming via the native GeForce NOW app, establishing a new standard for high-performance streaming.

Streamlined Access to Gaming Accessories and New Features

The UX update also provides quick access to gaming accessories and promotions. New “Recommended for you” tabs connect users to purchasing options. For instance, the “Recommended for you. Game Pad” tab offers a 20% discount on an Xbox Wireless Controller in 17 European markets. In the U.S., users can buy LG’s Magic Remote through the “Recommended for you. Magic Remote” tab, which lets them play games that are compatible with just a remote.

For competitive gamers, the Gaming Portal introduces “High Score Challenge,” a new feature accessible from the “All Games” tab that promotes competition on games like Color Mash.

Expanding Game Library

LG is continuously growing its game library through partnerships with various streaming services. A collaboration with Blacknut allows players to access cloud games through individual title subscriptions, including Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway. The Blacknut catalog also features games that can be played without a controller, like The Jackbox Party Starter.

In addition, LG’s partnership with Play.Works, a leader in Connected TV (CTV) gaming, brings a wealth of free-to-play titles, such as Wheel of Fortune, Tetris®, and PAC-MAN, directly to webOS devices. New additions include Creature Mix and Temple Maze.

LG’s Gaming Portal is committed to providing a seamless experience with an ever-growing selection of games and user-centric features, making it a versatile hub for gamers on LG Smart TVs, Smart Monitors, and other webOS-powered devices.
