HUAWEI has unveiled MatePad Air 12 and HUAWEI MatePad 11.5″ S 2025, the company’s latest tablet running HarmonyOS 5, in China. The HUAWEI MatePad Air 12, as the name suggests, features an all-metal body that weighs just 555g and is 5.9mm thin, and has a large 12″ 2.8K 144Hz LCD screen with TÜV Rheinland Hardware Grade Low Blu certification.
Irrespective of its thin body, HUAWEI has managed to include a 3D VC cooling architecture, which offers a 27% improvement in overall performance. The tablet packs a large 10,100mAh battery with 66W fast charging support, a 6-speaker setup, and can be paired with additional accessories like the Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard and M-Pencil Pro.
The HUAWEI MatePad 11.5″ S 2025, on the other hand, is a relatively budget offering from the brand compared to the MatePad Air 12. It offers an 11.5″ 2.8K LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3D VC cooling, and an 8800 mAh battery with 40 W fast charging.
Both tablets offer a PaperMatte display as an optional feature, which effectively reduces light reflections by 99%. HUAWEI has not revealed the actual processors for either device, which suggests they could be running on HUAWEI’s own Kirin SoC.
Running the latest HarmonyOS 5, powered by AI features like circle to search, split-screen document translation, AI multi-person voice transcription, real-time AI handwriting adjustments, and more.
