Adobe has released the beta version of its Photoshop mobile app for Android, expanding access to its popular editing and design tools beyond iPhone users.
The company said the mobile version of Photoshop is designed to be intuitive and accessible for creators who prefer working on their phones, offering core editing tools, Firefly-powered AI, and the flexibility to create everything from artwork and social posts to quick edits and visual ideas on the go.
Adobe Photoshop (Beta) for Android
Photoshop mobile for Android includes a full set of creative tools during the beta phase:
- Editing & AI Tools: Blend images using selections, layers, and masks. Use Tap Select to remove or replace parts of an image. Firefly’s Generative Fill enables text-prompt-based edits, supported by monthly generative credits. AI-powered tools like Remove and Tap Select help erase distractions or isolate people and objects instantly.
- Photo Retouching: Clean up photos with Spot Heal, remove unwanted elements using the Remove tool, and fine-tune lighting and color with Adjustment Layers. Edits can be applied selectively without affecting the entire image.
- Design & Creativity: Create collages, mood boards, flyers, posters, and album covers. Drag, drop, crop, and layer images from your camera roll or Adobe Stock. Add textures, film grain, or vintage elements for custom designs.
- Text & Graphics: Use the Type tool to turn quotes or lyrics into visuals. Design memes, logos, or story slides with custom text, stickers, and overlays.
- Export & Sharing: Projects can be saved in formats like JPG, PNG, TIF, or PSD. Quick Export lets users instantly send files to their device gallery or share them with others.
Adobe noted that Android beta users will receive limited-time access to premium tools and can provide feedback to help shape future updates.
