HMD Global is reportedly working on its first smartwatches running on Wear OS, as X user @smashx_60 shared details of two models: the Rubber 1 and Rubber 1S.
The Rubber 1 is said to feature a 1.85-inch OLED screen, a 2MP camera—potentially a first for Wear OS watches—Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi, NFC, an accelerometer, a heart rate monitor, and an SpO2 sensor. It runs on a 400 mAh battery with Qi wireless charging and has a 5ATM rating for water resistance.
The Rubber 1S is noted to come with a smaller 1.07-inch OLED screen, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, an accelerometer, a heart rate monitor, and SpO2 tracking. It has a 290 mAh battery with Qi wireless charging and also carries a 5ATM water resistance rating.
The leak suggests HMD may target children with these watches, especially the Rubber 1, building on its partnership with Xplora Technologies, a company known for the X6Play smartwatch for kids aged 6 and up.
