TECNO launched the POVA Curve 5G, the company’s latest 5G smartphone in the new Curve series, in India today. Here we have the unboxing and the first impressions of the smartphone.

The phone has a 6.78-inch (2436×1080 pixels) FHD+ 3D curved AMOLED screen with 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate. The screen is bright since it has up to 1300 nits peak brightness.
There is a 13MP front camera inside the tiny notch supports 4K 30 fps video recording. The earpiece is present on the top edge, which doubles as a secondary speaker. It supports Dolby Atmos audio. There is a small bezel below the screen.
The phone runs Android 15 with HiOS 15 on top, and the company has promised Android 16 update and 2 years of security updates for the phone. HiOS 15 brings a new UX that is clean, has new icons, wallpapers, Animation Engine, and has Ella AI that brings Multilingual Support including Hindi, and it will support Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, and Marathi by the end of this year, said the company.
There is AI Call Assistant that provides real-time translations, transcriptions, and summaries for calls, including WhatsApp. Other features include AI Auto Answer, AI Voiceprint Noise Suppression, AI Writing & Document Assistant and AI Screen Awareness. Gallery app has AI Eraser 2.0 & Image Extender, AI Sharpness Plus, and there is also AI Wallpaper Generator, Vogue Portraits & Artboard.
Under the hood, the TECNO Curve 5G is powered by the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset, making it one of the few phones with the chip in the price range. It has support for 10 5G bands, has 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. For connectivity there is 5G++, VoWiFi Dual Pass, Intelligent Signal Hub System, and more for the best network experience.
Coming to button placements, the power button is present on the right along with volume rockers. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone and vent for speaker are present on the top, along with infrared sensor.
The phone has dual rear cameras that include a 64MP main camera with Sony IMX682 sensor along with a 2MP secondary depth sensor. It supports 4K video recording at 30fps from the rear camera.

The phone has starship-inspired design and is just 7.45mm thick, yet packs a huge, 5500mAh battery. There is 45W wired charging that can charge the phone under an hour, and the phone also supports bypass charging as well as 10W reverse wired charging.
The TECNO POVA Curve 5G starts at Rs. 15,999. It will be available from Flipkart starting from June 5th.
