NotebookLM app now available on Android and iOS

Google on Tuesday rolled out the NotebookLM app for Android and iOS, bringing its AI-powered note-taking tool to mobile devices. The app lets users listen to Audio Overviews, ask questions about their sources, and save content from other apps directly into NotebookLM.

Biao Wang, Product Manager at Google Labs, said the team has received strong feedback from millions using NotebookLM to understand and engage with complex topics. He noted that one of the top requests was a mobile version — especially for listening to summaries on the move and quickly interacting with content.

This initial release brings several key features of NotebookLM to mobile, with more updates and improvements planned over time, Wang said. Wang added that early testers found several tools in the app particularly useful:

  • Offline Audio Overviews: Users can download Audio Overviews for playback without internet — helpful in places with no signal or when trying to save data. The audio can also play in the background while users multitask.

  • Real-time interaction: Users can tap “Join” to ask questions or guide the conversation in new directions.

  • Quick sharing to NotebookLM: While browsing a webpage, watching a video, or viewing a PDF, users can tap the share icon and send the content directly to NotebookLM as a new source. Google noted it will support more file types in future.

Availability

Users can now download the NotebookLM app from the App Store for iPhones and iPads with iOS 17 or newer, and from Google Play for Android devices running version 10 and above.
