HUAWEI today launched the MateBook Pro laptop powered by HarmonyOS, alongside the MateBook Fold ULTIMATE DESIGN in China. The MateBook Pro weighs 970 grams and measures 310 × 220 × 13.5 mm. It’s crafted with a micro-velvet textured aluminum body and topped with a HarmonyOS Smart Badge, signaling system-level integration.
The laptop sports a 14.2-inch OLED display with 3120 × 2080 resolution (3.1K), a 93% screen-to-body ratio, 120 Hz refresh rate, ΔE less than 1 for color accuracy, and peak brightness of 1000 nits. Its Cloud Clear Soft Light screen reduces glare by 99% thanks to nano-etching and nano-magnetic coatings. Audio is handled by a six-speaker Yuezhang system for immersive sound.
Built on HUAWEI’s Falcon architecture, the MateBook Pro combines lightweight, durable low-crystalline aluminum with precise 0.04 mm circuit etching. It debuts foam copper VC cooling technology, which increases heat dissipation fivefold, supports 40W performance, and reduces temperature by 10°C during intensive use.
The 70 Wh battery provides up to 10.2 hours of usage, with 70% better video playback and 32% longer overall battery life. Fast charging is available via 140W SuperCharge and 66W Reverse SuperCharge to power other devices.
Key productivity and AI features include:
- Xiaoyi AI Assistant: Manages tasks such as document summaries, meeting notes, and system adjustments through voice or text commands.
- Gesture Navigation: Supports three-finger swipe to return to desktop, hover to multitask, single-knuckle double tap for screenshots, and two-knuckle double tap for screen recordings.
- Star Flash Technology: Enables quick wireless pairing and phone-based device tracking even when the laptop is off.
- Privacy Control: A physical switch disables the camera, microphone, and location to protect user privacy.
- HarmonyOS 5 Integration: Provides instant startup, seamless syncing across phones, tablets, and PCs, smart meeting highlights, encrypted file sharing, and controlled app data access.
The laptop comes with 24 GB or 32 GB RAM options and storage choices of 512 GB, 1 TB, or 2 TB. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, Nearlink, and USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 1). Hardware features include a backlit keyboard with 1.8 mm key travel, fingerprint power button, 1080p HD camera, four microphones, and six speakers.
