Sony’s upcoming WH-1000XM6 headphones, the successor to the WH-1000XM5 released in June 2023, appeared in a now-removed Amazon Spain listing. Reddit user peruho first noticed the listing, and Dealabs captured a screenshot, though no images of the headphones were included.
Unlike the WH-1000XM5, the WH-1000XM6 has a foldable, adjustable, closed design, making it easier to store. Reddit user HiNoAme3 shared an image indicating Sony strengthened the hinge design for better durability.
The WH-1000XM6 has dimensions of 25.69 cm tall, 20 cm wide, and 7.83 cm deep, with a weight of 254 grams. They come in Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue. The package includes a carrying case, a USB Type-C cable, and a 1.2m 3.5mm audio cable.

The WH-1000XM6 features a QN3 HD Noise Cancelling processor, which Dealabs reports is seven times faster than the QN1 chip in the WH-1000XM5. This processor, combined with 12 microphones and Multi Noise Sensor technology, adjusts noise cancellation in real time based on ambient noise and air pressure. The Auto NC Optimizer adjusts noise cancellation to suit various settings, per the listing.
For audio, the headphones use 30mm drivers and support Hi-Res Audio. They include DSEE Extreme for improved sound quality and a 10-band EQ customizable via the Sony Sound Connect app. The WH-1000XM6 also supports the LDAC codec, 360 Reality Audio with head tracking, and Personalized Spatial Audio for a surround-sound experience.
The battery lasts 30 hours, with a three-minute charge delivering three hours of playback. Other features include Adaptive Sound Control, Quick Attention mode, Background Music, Wind Noise Reduction, and Speak to Chat, which pauses audio when the user speaks. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint support, a USB-C port for charging, and a 3.5mm jack for wired use. The headphones work with Android, iOS, PC, and Mac devices.
Launch date and pricing?
The listing suggests a U.S. launch between May 14 and May 16, 2025, with a price of USD 449.99 (Rs. 38,040 approx.). Official pricing and full specifications are expected the following week, per the leak.
