LG Smart TVs are getting Xbox Game Pass this week

LG has announced the availability of the Xbox app on its compatible Smart TVs, enabling users to stream Xbox games directly on their television screens. The rollout is stated to be available this week in over 25 countries.

Accessible from the Gaming Portal and LG Apps interfaces, the Xbox app allows LG TV owners to commence gameplay with a compatible controller. Access to a large library of titles is available through an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, which provides access to games from publishers including Activision, Bethesda, Blizzard, Mojang, and Xbox Game Studios.

An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership allows access to a range of titles, from current releases such as Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 and Avowed, to upcoming games like Towerborne. The service also facilitates streaming of a selection of games users may already own, citing examples such as NBA 2K25 and Hogwarts Legacy.

The Xbox app is compatible with LG TVs and select smart monitors running webOS 24 and later versions, with availability planned for StanbyME screens in the future.

LG states that the addition of the Xbox app, in conjunction with its display technologies like OLED and QNED and the webOS platform, enhances the gaming experience on its devices. The company highlights features such as 4K upscaling for visuals and the convenience of accessing a large game library via cloud gaming through the TV interface.
