Three UK MiFi – now in shiny white

The HSPA+ powered new Three UK MiFi, based on the Huawei E586, will soon be available in glossy white. This, says Three, is in preparation for the winter season.

But we at FoneArena reckons that Three are merely hedging their bets that owners of white iPad tablets and uhm, the iPhone 4S/5, will be wanting something a bit more matching for their sexy new Apple hardware.

Beneath the shiny new white exterior lies the same HSPA+ chipset as on the black E586, capable of delivering download speeds up to 21.1Mbps and pumping out data to the internet at speeds up to 5.76Mbps.

Like its ebony cousin, this Christmas themed MiFi will feature the same bright OLED screen which will display network statuses, signal strength, device connections and data consumption. It will also contain a microSDHC card slot, allowing users to use the MiFi as a USB storage. A new white cradle charger will also be made available.

David Kerrigan, Head of Mobile Broadband at Three commented: “We’re delighted to be able to offer our customers a seasonal twist on our great new MiFi. With groundbreaking technology inside, users can also enjoy the full benefit of Three’s award winning mobile broadband network”.

The Huawei E586, like the E585 before that, will allow multiple devices including games consoles, laptops and tablets to simultaneously connect and share a single mobile broadband connection, securely.

Three UK is currently in the process of deploying HSPA+ upgrade on its network and aims to cover 80% of the country by the end of the year.
