At the Google Cloud Next ’24 event, OPPO and OnePlus unveiled their plan to integrate Google’s powerful AI model, Gemini Models, into their devices, aiming to roll out Gemini Model features on smartphones later this year.
Nicole Zhang, AI Product General Manager at OPPO and OnePlus, shared that they’ve already introduced several Generative AI models to over ten million users in China, including those using OPPO Find X7 and OnePlus 12. Both companies have discussed, which includes:
Four Pillars of Mobile AI
They emphasized four key aspects essential for mobile AI: efficient resource usage, self-learning capabilities, real-world perception, and fostering user creativity.
OPPO and OnePlus are committed to optimizing hardware, operating systems, and ecosystems to enhance AI experiences. Collaborations with partners like AI Eraser are underway, with a gradual rollout starting this month on OnePlus devices.
Global Launch of AI Features
AI Eraser, powered by AndesGPT LLM from OPPO and OnePlus, promises to transform image editing by seamlessly removing unwanted objects from photos.
Additionally, they’re partnering with Google to integrate various Cloud AI products, enabling features like news article summaries and social media content generation.
Pioneering AI Initiatives
Both companies have been at the forefront of mobile technology innovation. OPPO’s advancements in AI-driven photography and OnePlus’s Trinity Engine, enhancing phone performance with AI, demonstrate their commitment to pushing boundaries.
Over the next few years, they plan to introduce over a hundred AI-generated content experiences, prioritizing user needs and intuitive product design.
