OPPO Reno10 Pro Unboxing and First Impressions

OPPO launched the Reno10 series smartphones in India this week. The Reno10 Pro is the successor to the Reno9 Pro, but it is actually the successor to the Reno8 Pro in India, since the Reno9 series didn’t launch in India. The Reno10 Pro has several upgrades to the Reno8 Pro. Here are our first impressions.

Box Contents

  • OPPO Reno10 Pro 12GB + 256GB in Glossy Purple colour
  • 80W SuperVOOC fast charger
  • USB Type-C cable
  • Protective case
  • SIM Ejector tool
  • User guide

The phone has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen which a centre punch-hole. Since it has up to 950 nits brightness, the screen is bright even outdoors, and the 100% DCI-P3 and sRGB wide color gamut offers vibrant colours. It has 120Hz refresh rate screen and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. There is also 2160Hz PWM dimming to avoid flickering in low brightness.

Inside the tiny punch-hole, there is a 32-megapixel camera with Sony IMX709 sensor. The earpiece grill is present on the top edge, sadly this doesn’t double up as a secondary speaker.

It has an ultra narrow bottom bezel. The phone features an in-display fingerprint scanner. It runs Android 13, and the phone will get two years of OS and three years of security updates.

It is powered by Snapdragon 778G SoC compared to Dimensity 8100 Max in the Reno8 Pro, but the Chinese version of the Reno10 Pro gets a Dimensity 8200 which is slightly better. The phone has 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS2.2 storage.

Coming to the button placements and ports, the power button is present on the right side along with the volume rockers. There is nothing on the left. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top, along with an IR blaster. The phone doesn’t have an expandable storage.

Camera setup

  • 50MP main camera with IMX890 sensor, ƒ/1.8 aperture, OIS
  • 8MP IMX355 ultra-wide camera with ƒ/2.2 aperture
  • 32MP IMX709 2X telephoto camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture
  • 32MP RGBW front camera with IMX709 sensor, ƒ/2.4 aperture

The 32MP telephoto portrait camera with 2x zoom is the highlight. It has Bokeh Flare portrait video, but doesn’t have the MariSilicon X NPU which the Pro+ has.

Check out some camera samples.

The phone has a glass back. The Glossy Purple that we have has an encased in gemstone-like glossy glass and has metallic hue. It also comes in Silvery Grey with OPPO Glow design.

The phone packs a 4,600mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC wired fast charging that can charge up to 48% in 10 minutes. There is Battery Health Engine (BHE) technology and SUPERVOOC S Power Management Chip.

The OPPO Reno10 Pro is priced at Rs. 39,999 and will be available from Flipkart, OPPO India online store and offline stores starting from July 13th. There are bank offers, No Cost EMI and more.
