At MWC 2023, MediaTek will be showcasing its Dimensity, Filogic, Genio, Kompanio, and Pentonic portfolios, along with new 5G demos. They will also demonstrate their satellite communications platform and display devices from some of the world’s biggest brands.
MediaTek’s 5G NTN Solution
MediaTek is bringing two-way satellite communications to smartphones and other devices with its 3GPP standards-based 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) solution. At MWC, attendees can check out devices powered by this solution, as well as the company’s next-generation New Radio NTN (NR-NTN) technology for the first time.
ATSSS Technology
MediaTek is focused on delivering the fastest and most reliable 5G connectivity to consumers, and will demonstrate Traffic Steering, Switching, and Splitting (ATSSS) technology.
Together with Deutsche Telekom, the company conducted a world-first proof of concept for the ATSSS 3GPP Release 16 (R16) standard, using a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 flagship chipset. This ensures stable voice and video call quality by switching between cellular 5G and Wi-Fi.
Other Technologies
MediaTek is also demonstrating 5G mmWave beam technology in cooperation with Ericsson, and its 5G UltraSave for mmWave with Keysight 5G Network Emulation Solutions. This technology optimizes hardware and software design to extend battery life during high-speed data transmission for 5G-enabled devices.
MediaTek Dimensity Series in Smartphones and Tablets
MediaTek’s Dimensity lineup offers a range of technologies, such as connectivity, multimedia, AI and imaging, for flagship smartphones as well as mass market devices.
At MWC, MediaTek will be highlighting how its Dimensity 9200 chipset takes flagship smartphones to the next level with hardware tracing support, Intelligent Display Sync 3.0 and Intelligent Image Semantic Segmentation. Also on display are the vivo X90 and X90 Pro powered by the Dimensity 9200.
MediaTek 7000 Dimensity Series
The MediaTek 7000 Dimensity Series is being unveiled at MWC, featuring the new Dimensity 7200. This chipset features two Arm Cortex-A715 cores, six Cortex-A510 cores, a built-in AI Processing Unit and an Arm Mali G610 GPU. It supports 4K HDR video capture, 200MP cameras, and R16 Sub-6GHz 5G modem with up to 4.7Gbps downlink.
MediaTek Helio G36
MediaTek introduced the Helio G36, designed for mass market gaming devices recently. This chipset provides peak speeds of 2.2GHz from its octa-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU, has support for 90Hz displays and 50MP cameras with light AI-camera enhancements.
Connectivity and Home
MediaTek’s Filogic portfolio provides stabile, always-on connected experiences for residential gateways, mesh routers, smart TVs, streaming devices, smartphones, tablets, laptops and more.
At MWC, the company will demonstrate a full suite of products that are powered by MediaTek’s industry-leading Wi-Fi 7/6E/6 Filogic solutions. The company introduced consumer-ready Wi-Fi 7 products at CES 2023.
IoT, Chromebook and Smart TV
Aiming to make great technology available to everyone, MediaTek’s Genio platform features high-end, mid-tier and basic chipsets for various smart home and smart environment devices. Kompanio chipsets offer high performance and good battery life for Chromebooks in diverse price ranges.
Pentonic portfolio, on the other hand, integrates the latest display, audio, AI, broadcasting and connectivity technologies for a unique entertainment experience. At MWC, MediaTek will have various demos and devices that are powered by its Genio, Kompanio and Pentonic portfolios.

From Feb. 27 to March 2, 2023, MediaTek will be showcasing their demos at Mobile World Congress Barcelona, Hall 3 Stand 3D10.
