Apple Watch Ultra with 2.1″ Micro LED screen and AirPods Lite could launch in 2024

Despite its high price, Apple’s top-of-the-line Watch Ultra has gained unexpected popularity among consumers. The upcoming version of the Watch Ultra appears to have a Micro LED display with a larger screen size. This information was revealed by tech analyst Jeff Pu in conjunction with the expected release of Apple’s AirPods Lite, an entry-level TWS earbuds.

According to Jeff Pu, the 2023 Apple Watch models will be similar to their predecessors in terms of specifications. The use of a microLED screen on the Watch Ultra could begin with 2024 models, according to the claim.

In addition, the 2024 Watch Ultra could be the first Apple product to receive this new technology along with a larger screen size of 2.1-inch, compared to 1.93-inch in the current model.

If you’re unfamiliar with Micro LED screens, they outperform OLED in terms of brightness and colour accuracy. However, this display technology is more costly than current OLED technology. Apple is expected to switch to this new display technology for the majority of its products, beginning with the Watch Ultra in 2024.

In terms of the new AirPods, Apple is expected to unveil the AirPods Lite, a “lite” version of the AirPods series. Jeff Pu claims it will be a “lower priced product,” implying that it will be less expensive than the AirPods series. There’s no word on specifications but based on the current store price of AirPods 2, we can expect it to be less than US$ 129 (Rs. 10,690 approx.).

In any case, this addition to the AirPods series should help Apple expand its presence in the TWS space, which is becoming increasingly competitive. More details on these two products should become available in the coming months.
