Amazon Echo Studio gets Spatial audio with the latest update

Amazon has updated Echo Studio with two new audio features, including Amazon’s proprietary spatial audio processing technology and frequency range extension. These enhancements enlist Echo Studio’s existing support for Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio.

Spatial audio processing technology

Amazon’s in-house developed spatial audio processing technology was created to improve the quality of stereo sound. As a result, music and film soundtracks now have a better sense of proximity to the listener as well as improved width, clarity, and presence.

It creates a more immersive sound experience that reproduces the artist’s intent by mimicking the performance of a high-fidelity stereo system. This allows voice performances to be more present in the centre, while stereo-panned instruments are better defined on the sides. Powerful bass, dramatic midrange, and clear highs come from its 5 speakers. Furthermore – Space, clarity, and depth are added with Dolby Atmos.

Frequency range extension

In addition, the frequency range extension technology results in greater performance, enhanced clarity in the mid-range, and deeper bass. Echo Studio already has strong support for Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio, and these changes will make that support even better.
