Amazon launches new Kindle with 6″ 300 PPI screen, 16GB storage in India


Update: Amazon has launched the new Kindle in India at an introductory price of Rs. 8,999, and the original price is Rs. 9,999. It is available from Amazon.in.

Earlier: Amazon has announced the 2022 version of its Kindle reader, which features a 300 ppi high-resolution 6-inch display, USB-C charging, up to six weeks of reading battery life, and other features. This version comes after the launch of Kindle 2019.

Amazon claims that the Kindle is the lightest and smallest Kindle till date. The Kindle 2022 weighs 158 g and measures 8 mm in thickness. It has a new 6-inch glare-free, 300 ppi high-resolution display with three times more pixels for laser-quality text and sharp graphics that read like paper.

Another highlight of the Kindle 2022 is its 16GB of internal storage, which is double the capacity of the previous model. The device can be charged with a USB-C cable, and a single charge can last up to 6 weeks.

In terms of software improvements, the Kindle 2022’s dark mode and adjustable front light are meant to make it easy to read in any light. It also has an X-Ray feature that shows important information about people or places mentioned in a book, as well as an in-built dictionary that lets you look up any word quickly.

Pricing and Availability:

The new Amazon Kindle 2022 version comes in Black or Denim colours and is priced at $99.99 (Rs. 7,955 approx.) for the 16GB model. New Kindle fabric covers will be available in Black, Rose, Denim, and Dark Emerald and will be sold separately.

Kindle Kids with kid-friendly cover design and one year of Amazon Kids+ will be available in 16GB Black for $119.99 (Rs. 9,549 approx.). Customers can choose from three different kid-friendly cover designs: Space Whale, Unicorn Valley, and Ocean Explorer. Each Kindle Kids device comes with a two-year worry-free guarantee and a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+.

Kindle and Kindle Kids pre-orders start today and will begin shipping October 12. We can expect the India launch soon.
