Samsung rolls out world’s first wireless Dolby Atmos soundbars

For the year 2022, Samsung has officially announced their soundbar line up in Korea. This includes the new Q Series and S Series with Dolby Atmos as the successor to last year’s models. These were showcased at the CES earlier this year.

Samsung’s premier series of soundbars is the Q Series. The HW-Q990B has 11.1.4 channel sound, which means it has 11 speakers, one subwoofer, and four vertical speakers to provide an immersive Dolby Atmos sound field. The HW-Q910B and HW-Q800B have a 9.1.2 channel configuration and a 5.1.2 channel configuration, correspondingly.

When paired with a fully compatible Samsung TV, all three of these soundbars leverage Q-Symphony to provide an even richer experience by synchronously playing audio through all the soundbars as well as the TV’s speakers.

A new acoustic lens has been incorporated into the subwoofer, giving it increased low-frequency performance but also improved audio dispersion over earlier models. The S Series soundbars, on the other hand, have a more minimalist style while still offering seriously impressive sound thanks to Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual: X support, as well as a 6.5-inch cubic subwoofer.

The LED display status panel is featured on the front, making it easier to keep track of the device’s operation and info. It also has a built-in feature that lets you connect the sound bar to the Samsung TV in 2022 over Wi-Fi without having to use an HDMI cable. This lets you enjoy Dolby Atmos 3D spatial sound wirelessly, as well as SpaceFit+ sound and Auto EQ.
