Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 get Advanced Fall detection, Group Challenge and more

Along with the rollout of One UI 4 for the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung is pushing a new software update to older Galaxy smartwatches that adds a bunch of new features. These include a more advanced Fall Detection, support for Group Challenges, and more.

On the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3, the sensitivity of the Fall detection feature can now be increased. This can enable the detection of a fall even when standing still, and send an SOS notification to pre-selected contacts.

Group Challenge is a fun feature that is designed to motivate and encourage users by letting them compete with their friends and family. Users can add friends or family members and see who can go the furthest or the fastest in challenges. The feature also allows working as a team or competing against each other individually.

The Samsung Health Monitor app has expanded its availability to users in Australia, Azerbaijan, Paraguay and Georgia, and it now supports both the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3.

And of course, as is with nearly software update, there are 10 additional watch faces that first launched with the Galaxy Watch 4. Some of these watch faces offer further customization options, such as the option to chang the background or text colors.

The software rollout has begun rolling out on the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3, and should reach every supported device soon.
