After momentarily appearing in the Google Store, Google has officially launched 4 new Nest security cameras, each with the own unique design and purpose. These include 2 new battery powered cameras along with 2 updated wired security cameras.
The 4 new additions to the Nest security family are:
- Google Nest Cam (battery)
- Google Nest Doorbell (battery)
- Google Nest Cam with floodlight
- 2nd Gen Google Nest Cam (wired)
The battery powered options of the Nest cam and Nest Doorbell, which is a first among Nest security cameras, provide flexibility over the installation location. All these new cameras feature on-device processing capabilities which allow them to detect important events, provide more relevant notifications and have improved privacy and security.
The Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Cam with floodlight in particular have the ability to record up to one hour of events on-device if the power or Wi-Fi disconnects, and these events will be uploaded to the cloud once the Wi-Fi connects back.

The new battery-powered Nest Cam and Nest Doorbell will go on sale on August 24th, while the Nest Cam with floodlight and the new wired indoor Nest Cam will go on sale later in the year.
