Apex Legends battle royale game coming to Android and iOS; closed beta to start in India soon

Respawn Entertainment, the developers behind Apex Legends, has announced that the battle royale game will soon be coming to mobile (Android and iOS). The game will soon be released as a closed beta in India and Philippines, and will feature a touchscreen experience with streamlined controls and optimizations.

Apex Legends is a battle royale game by Respawn Entertainment and EA, where players can team up as duos or trios, each playing certain characters, called “Legends”. Each Legend brings with them their own unique abilities, giving them certain advantages during the game. According to Respawn Entertainment, the mobile version will be “a new version of Apex Legends, but it’s true to the original.”

Starting in Spring 2021, Apex Legends Mobile will begin testing as a closed beta for a few thousand players in India and the Philippines. Over the course of the year, they will expand the closed beta to more users and more regions. Once fully launched, similar to other platforms, the game will be free-to-play with paid in-game content such as Battle Passes, collectible cosmetics, and other unlockables.

The game recently crossed a milestone of 100 million players in total across all platforms. It is a free-to-play game with paid in-game content such as Battle Passes, collectible cosmetics, and other unlockables. At the moment it is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
