Soon there will be new Mobile Numbering Pattern in India!

mobile number Its a short report for all those guys out there who are worried about the availability of mobile numbers in India. Many of you must have noticed, most of the mobile number series with 9 level (starting with ‘9’) have either exhausted or being pre-occupied by any other services.. For example ‘95’ series in India was being booked only for landline customers, using which a landline customer can make STD calls without dialing ‘0’ instead fixing 95 before the number.

But keeping in mind the huge requirements of mobile numbers, recently, TRAI instructed to shut down 95 series for landline customer so that it may use those series as well for mobile numbering. There were even rumors that, hence forth any mobile service provider in India will not be provided any specific numbering series (as in TATA has 92, Reliance CDMA-93, and BSNL-94) and may even use the vacant series with these operators in the future. So don’t get surprised, when a friend of yours, gives his number starting with 94 and says that is Airtel. 😉

There were even speculations that, TRAI may soon increase a digit in Indian mobile numbers, it means the present 10 digit mobile numbers may get an extra digit totaling to 11.

So, its just matter of time that will disclose the real mobile numbering pattern that will be adopted in India. And I am optimist that it will surely bring some positive impact. 😉
