Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless noise-cancelling headphones launching in India on September 18


Sony announced its fourth generation WH-1000XM4 wireless noise-canceling headphones last month in the US. Following that, the company is gearing up for the India launch as the teasers have gone live on Amazon.in which also reveals the launch date.

According to the micro-site on Amazon.in, the Sony WH-1000XM4 will be launched in India on September 18th, 2020, and the ‘Notify Me’ option is live now. It should also be available soon through offline retailers and other channels. As for the price, it was announced in the US for $349 (Rs. 25, 409 approx.), and we should know the India price once it is launched on September 18.

In case you missed, the WH-1000XM4 builds upon the existing technologies of the WH-1000XM3 and adds a lot of new smart functionalities like on-ear detection, multiple device pairing, adaptive sound control, along with better noise cancellation and more. It features improved noise cancellation with its Dual Noise Sensor technology and updated HD Noise Canceling Processor QN1. The sound quality has also been improved with a new Edge-AI used by the DSEE Extreme (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) and with support for 360 Reality Audio.

There are a number of smart features added to the WH-1000XM4, including the Speak-to-Chat feature, Adaptive Sound Control feature, and an improved 5-mic system for clearer calls, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Fast Pair, wearing detection. Sony promises 30 hours of battery life on the WH-1000XM4 and there is support for Quick Charging as well.
