LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier with replaceable H13 HEPA filters announced [Update: Global roll out begins]

Update: November 4, 2020 – LG has announced that the PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier has started rolling out globally starting from key regions including Asia and the Middle East, among others from this month.

In Hong Kong it costs HK$ 1,180 (US$ 152 / Rs. 11,375 approx.), the H13 HEAP Total Care Filter (2 pieces in 1 box) and the Inner Cover (30 pieces in 1 box) are priced at HK$ 98 (US$ 12.6 / Rs. 945 approx.) each.

Earlier: With the ongoing pandemic, it was only a matter of time before technology adapted around the various aspects of our lives. Now, it seems technology has caught with face masks as LG has announced that their PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier will soon be available in Q4 2020 in select markets.

It uses two H13 HEPA filters that are user replaceable, thereby ensuring that it is environmentally responsible. To aid the user’s breathing, the mask utilizes Dual Fans and a patented Respiratory Sensor to automatically sense the cycle and volume of the user’s breathing and adjust the speed of its fans accordingly.

The mask comes with a charging case that contains UV-LED lights that will kill harmful germs when it is stored. The case can even send a notification to the LG ThinQ mobile app when the filters need to be replaced for peak performance. Regarding battery life, the 820mAh battery in the mask offers up to eight hours of operation in low mode and up to two hours on high.
