Update: July 21, 2020 — HONOR has announced that it will roll out the HONOR Router 3 is available to pre-order for €79.90 (US$ 91.4 / Rs. 6,820 approx.) in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands and £79.99 (US$ 101.5 / Rs. 7,575 approx.) in the UK. HONOR fans in selected countries can also get a free HONOR Band 5 and an HONOR Sport Bluetooth earphone with every HONOR Router 3 purchase from today to 31st July.
Earlier: Alongside the HONOR ViewPad 6, MagicBook Pro 2020, Vision X1 Series, the company has also announced its new connectivity product – HONOR Router 3 with Wi-Fi 6+ support in China.
The HONOR Router 3 uses the in-house Kirin W650 Wi-Fi 6+ chipset, Gigahome Dual-core 1.2 GHz CPU and packs 128MB of RAM, and flash memory. It is a dual-band router with 4 external antennas which have a gain of 5dBi and it can transmit at 2976 Mbps (maximum) with 2402 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 574 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band.
Coming to the ports, it has 4 10/100/1000M Ethernet ports with WAN/LAN adaptation and it supports 2 x 2 MU-MIMO, 802.11ax / ac / n / a and 802.11ax / n / b / g transmission standards, and 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3ab Network Port Transmission Protocols. It also supports OFDMA multi-user technology for direct connections to a number of devices and can be configured through the Huawei Smart Life APP.
Other features include Wi-Fi access authorization, Wi-Fi anti-violent cracking, WPA3 encryption protocol support, DoS attack protection, etc.
Pricing and Availability
The HONOR Router 3 is priced at 219 yuan (US$ 31 / Rs. 2334 approx.) and will be available in China from May 25th. It will be available in global markets from July, 2020.
