OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro Android 10 based Oxygen OS Open Beta 1 released

Recently, Google confirmed that Android Q will be called Android 10 and Android 10 stable update started rolling out for Pixel and Essential smartphones earlier today. After Google Pixel and Essential smartphones, OnePlus has now officially started rolling out Oxygen OS Open Beta 1 based on Android 10 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro.

The new update for OnePlus 7 Series updates the system to Android 10, of course, and also brings with it a brand new UI design, enhanced location permissions for privacy, new customisation feature in settings. The changelog also includes Android 10 Full-Screen Gestures, new ‘Game Space’ feature, Smart display and also adds the ability to block spam by keywords for Message.

As this is an Open Beta Version(OBT) and not the stable build(MP version), OnePlus says that there are known issues like application compatibility issues, system lag and stability issues. Users who are already on Developer Preview 4(DP1) and Developer Preview 5(DP5) will get the OTA update directly from today and those who wish to update to Open Beta version from Developer Preview/Stable version can install Android 10 through local OTA update. The update package for OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro can be downloaded from OnePlus forums and it is safe to backup required data before proceeding with the upgrade.
