Google rolls out September 2018 Android security update


Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The update for this month also includes functional patches that improves battery charge in Retail Mode for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL as well as improvements to SW Version reporting and audio quality over car speakers for all the Pixel phones.

New builds for the Pixel and Nexus devices with September 2018 Android Security update:

  • Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL (PPR2.180905.005)
  • Pixel, Pixel XL (PPR1.180905.003/PPR2.180905.006/PPR2.180905.006.A1)
  • Pixel C (OPM4.171019.021.Z1)
  • Nexus 5X / 6P (OPM6.171019.030.K1)
