Acer Swift 5 world’s lightest 15-inch laptop, new Swift 3, Aspire 7, Aspire 5, Aspire 3 notebooks and Aspire Z 24 AIO PC announced


Acer at an event in IFA 2018 in Berlin announced new Swift 5 (SF515-51T), which is currently the world’s lightest 15-inch laptop weighing just 990 grams. It is powered by the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U / Core i5-8265U processors and have ultra-slim 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen display with ultra-narrow 5.87 mm bezels and 87.6% screen-to-body ratio and promise up to10 hours of battery life.

The Swift 5 features top and bottom covers that are constructed from magnesium-lithium alloy for a thinner design while ensuring durability without bending or twisting. The magnesium-aluminum alloy palm rest provides an extra sturdy base when using the keyboard and trackpad. The slim chassis measures just 15.9mm thin, yet makes room for a fingerprint reader that supports Windows Hello unlock. It has up to 16GB of DDR4 SDRAM and up to a 1 TB NVMe PCIe SSD. It has Acer TrueHarmony technology and optimized Dolby Audio for powerful sound through dual stereo speakers.

Connectivity features include, WiFi 2×2 802.11ac, USB 3.1 Type-C Gen-2 port, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports (one with power-off charging functionality), and an HDMI port.

There is also a 14-inch Swift 5 (SF514-53T) with the latest Intel Core i7-8565U / Intel Core i5-8265U processors, offer up to 8 hours  of battery life, 14-inch Full HD touchscreen display with 9.32 mm narrow bezels, similar design to the 15.6-inch model with magnesium-lithium alloy construction.  It has 2×2 802.11ac Gigabit WiFi, fingerprint reader for Windows Hello,  USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 , 2 x USB 3.0 (one with power-off USB charging) and a HDMI.

It also introduced new Swift 3 models with 13.3-inch and 14-inch displays, slim designs and bezels with the latest 8th Gen Intel Core processors and a configuration with built-in 4G LTE connectivity.

The Swift 3 (SF313-51)has a 13.3-inch Full HD display, option for integrated 4G LTE, packed, powered by Intel Core processors, up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB NVMe PCIe SSDs, 2×2 802.11ac WiFi and up to 13 hours of battery life

The Swift 3 (SF314-55/SF314-55G) has a 14-inch Full HD display with super-thin 6.1 mm side bezels, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U/i5-8265U/i3-8145U processors, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics, up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB PCIe NVMe SSDs, up to 12 hours of battery life. It has 2×2 802.11ac Gigabit WiFi and USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 port. The Swift 3 (SF314-56/SF-314-56G) has the sane 14-inch Full HD display, but it has a slightly larger design that makes room for a hard disk drive. It also features an extra-large touchpad.

The Acer Aspire 7 has a 15.6 inch up to Ultra HD (3840×2160) IPS display with a narrow bezel design, has  full metal chassis with extra-light magnesium-lithium bottom cover and slim-line look, is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8705G or i5-8305G processor with Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics and 4GB HMB2 Graphics Memory, up to 16GB DDR4 memory, up to 512GB PCIe NVMe RAID 0 SSD storage, backlit keyboard, Dolby Atmos sound and Acer TrueHarmony technology.

The new Acer Aspire 5 has a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with narrow, 7.82 mm bezel, is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU, Acer TrueHarmony, hairline brushed pattern and a premium aluminum cover. The Acer Aspire 3 features a 14-inch Full HD display, up to 8GB of DDR4 2666 MHz memory, HDMI port, 3 USB ports and an optional built-in DVD drive.

The Aspire Z 24 all-in-one PC has a 23.8 inch Full HD IPS 10-point touch display with ultra-narrow bezel, wide-viewing angle with Acer BlueLightShield and Flickerless technologies allow adjusting of the screen’s blue-light emission over extended periods of use. It is thin at just 11 mm, supported by a glossy V-shaped metal stand. It is equipped with a far-field microphone array made up of four digital microphones to use Amazon Alexa or Cortana from up to 4 meters away . It also features Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio Premium technology, dual front stereo speakers. It is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ desktop processors with support for up to 32GB of Intel Optane memory and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics.

Pricing and Availability

  • Acer Swift 5 with 15-inch display (SF515-51T) – Starts at €1,099 in EMEA and 7,499 Yuan in China and available in November 2018 / Starts at $1,099 and available in North America in January, 2019
  • Acer Swift 5 with 14-inch display (SF514-53T) – Starts at €999, available in EMEA in September, and in China, in November, starting at 7,499 yuan.
  • Acer Swift 3 with 13-inch display (SF313-51) – Starts at €799, Available in EMEA in October
  • Acer Swift 3 with 14-inch displays (SF314-55 and SF314-56) – Starts at $799.99 and available in North America in November, and in EMEA in January, 2019, starting at €799
  • The Acer Aspire 3 series starts at €399 and will be available in EMEA in December
  • Acer Aspire 5 series starts at €549 and will be available in EMEA in December 2018
  • The Acer Aspire Z 24 series starts at $899 in North America and €899.99 in in EMEA and will be available in October
