HMD Global introduced Nokia 7 smartphone back in October last year and the new Nokia 6 (2018) was unveiled earlier this month in China running Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). As the company had promised, it has started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the smartphones.
The 788MB update for the Nokia 7 brings the latest Android 8.0 Oreo that brings range of features including Background limits, Picture-in-Picture (PIP), notification channels, Wide-gamut color for apps, Adaptive icons, Companion device pairing, Keyboard navigation, AAudio API for Pro Audio and more.
It also adds virtual gesture navigation bar operation, improved double tap to wake up, improves stability, brings updates to system apps and lots more. The company has promised that the old Nokia 6 will get the Android Oreo update soon.
Globally, HMD Global has released Android Oreo stable update for Nokia 8 and is currently beta testing the update for Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. It recently said that the Nokia 2 will get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly skipping Android 8.0 and will also include memory management features found in Android Oreo (Go Edition).
