Samsung is said to introduce in-display fingerprint sensor with the Galaxy Note 9, according to latest report from KGI securities. The company will continue to put the fingerprint sensor at the back for Galaxy S9 similar to Galaxy S8 and S8+. However, Samsung could reposition the rear-mounted sensor on the S9 to a slightly more ergonomic position.

The report further says that Samsung will not risk with in-display fingerprint sensor in the S9 since the upcoming iPhone 8 has ditched efforts to implement it. Apple was rumored to be working on built-in fingerprint sensor into iPhone 8 display. KGI further added that the Galaxy S9 models will come with some other selling points including advanced iris recognition as well as dual cameras.

Samsung is said to switch from Synaptics to Egis at the time of the Note’s release to supply the company with fingerprint sensors on the Galaxy Note 9.
