Facebook is reportedly testing the ‘dislike’ button along with reactions for Messenger. The social network first introduced reactions button with emojis last year and is now looking to expand it to Messenger as well, according to a latest report from TechCrunch.

The dislike button will be in the form of a ‘thumbs down’ button, added the report. Currently, Messenger has the blue thumbs up button which is the iconic ‘Like’ button that is also present on Facebook. The social network has confirmed that it is testing the dislike and reactions feature on a limited number of users.

Reactions on Messenger will work similar to the way they work on Facebook however, a thumbs down button will be added to the existing six reactions that suggests responses such as love, laughter, happiness, smile, shock, sadness and anger. In order to add a reaction, you will have to hold down the Like button on mobile or hover over the Like button on desktop to see the reaction image options, then tap either Like, Dislike Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry.

Facebook told TechCrunch,

We’re always testing ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging. This is a small test where we enable people to share an emoji that best represents their feelings on a message.

Currently, it is not known when will these features roll out for all the Messenger users.
