Apple and Carl Zeiss are teaming up to work on Augmented Reality (AR) glasses, according to AR/VR evangelist Robert Scoble who cited an unnamed employee at Zeiss. He further added that the pair of AR glasses could debut next year.

In November, a Bloomberg report had stated that Apple is working on pair of digital smart glasses that will use augmented reality. They would connect wirelessly to the iPhone and showcase images and other content on to the glasses. At the moment, it is not clear how reliable Scoble’s information is. However, Apple CEO Tim Cook had mentioned earlier that the company is more interested in augmented reality than virtual reality as AR allows people to be more “present.”
