Asus Zenfone AR Hands On and Photo Gallery

Taiwan-based handset maker, Asus introduced Zenfone AR smartphone at the ongoing CES 2017. In fact, the Zenfone AR becomes the first smartphone to support both Google’s Tango and DayDream technologies. We were live at the event and have got our hands on the phone. Let’s take a detailed look at hardware and specs of the phone.

The Zenfone AR sports a 5.7-inch (1440 x 2560 pixel) Super AMOLED display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor clubbed with up to 8GB RAM under the hood. Also, it is the first Asus smartphone to run on Android 7.0 Nougat.

It supports connectivity options including 4G, WiFi 802.11 ac 5 GHz 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C. Moreover, it is juiced with 3300mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

At the bottom, the device has a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, and a speaker grill.

The right side of the phone houses power button and volume rockers.

A secondary microphone is present on top.

A hybrid SIM slot is present on left side.

On the back, it has a 23MP main camera with a dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX318 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The camera module consists of a motion-tracking camera and a depth-sensing camera that supports Tango’s AR capabilities.

The Zenfone AR has an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, 85-degree-wide-viewing angle lens, ear piece on top and a physical home button and capacitive button at the bottom.

Asus Zenfone AR comes in 32GB / 64GB / 128GB / 256GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage versions with expandable memory option via a MicroSD card slot.

It comes in two variants in terms of RAM — 6GB/8GB. The Asus Zenfone AR comes in Charcoal Black color with leather finish and will roll out from Q2 2017. Currently there are no details about the pricing.
