India will soon get its hands on technology that will allow it to unlock iPhone and other electronic devices, according to a latest report from the Economic Times. Gandhinagar based forensic institute called as Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) will soon acquire the technology from Israel based company, Cellebrite.

Cellebrite was sought out by US’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for unlocking a terrorist Syed Farook’s iPhone earlier this year. Apple and FBI locked horns over unlocking Farook’s iPhone. Cellebrite has worked with major intelligence and law enforcement agencies around the world. “We are likely to have the technology within a month or so. India will become a global hub for cases where law enforcement is unable to break into phones,” a senior FSL official told the publication.

The report adds that only FSL Gandhinagar will have the entire tool of this technology that will unlock and cracking encrypted electronic devices and iPhones.
