Google is working on a new update for better representation of emails in Gmail. Gmail and Inbox by Gmail will support emails created with responsive design which means the content adapts to fit screens of all sizes.

The responsive design will enlarge text, links and buttons will to make reading and tapping easier on a mobile device. Desktop users of Gmail will also see improvements, since emails designed for mobile can also adapt to fit larger screens.

Google also said it will allow the use of CSS media queries with Gmail and Inbox by Gmail to ensure that their message is formatted as per their choice, whether it’s viewed on a computer, a phone in portrait mode, or a tablet in landscape mode. Users will be able to change styles based on width, rotation, and resolution, allowing for more responsive formatting to optimize email for every device.
