OnePlus is known to be a brand that listens to their users especially through their active forum. One of the most requested features has been VoLTE for their older handsets in light of the recent surge of Reliance Jio 4G users.

Today, Vikas Agarwal, GM of OnePlus India posted on their forum clarifying that the VoLTE support is indeed coming for OnePlus 2 users. However, the bad news is that it won’t be coming now but only sometime in the next quarter.

The update will come in the form of an OTA download and will enable VoLTE functionality on the OnePlus 2. They’ve also made it clear that users of OnePlus One and OnePlus X won’t be getting the feature and have urged the users to use Jio4GVoice app instead to make calls on the Jio networks.

We are currently almost half way through September and while October is still technically next quarter, it remains to be seem just when exactly in the next quarter we will receive the OTA update for the OnePlus 2.
