Over 50,000 online merchants have already been signed up for the JioMoney wallet and it is expected that the company could soon start supporting transactions on popular online marketplaces such as Flipkart, Amazon, and Snapdeal. The wallet will work across a number of offline stores in India. The JioMoney Wallet will allow user to pay insurance premiums, do online shopping and send or receive money to family and friends. In addition, JioMoney wallet allows consumers to use barcode scan to pay at physical stores along with offer deals, coupons and cashback directly to customers on their mobile phone from local merchants.

It also gives consumers the option of opening a Digital Bank Account or linking their existing account. Reliance Payment Solutions received mobile wallet licence for its JioMoney service in November 2015. The public roll our for the wallet service comes after four months of testing within a limited number of Reliance Industries employees at company cafeterias and at the Reliance Retail unit.
