Chrome Beta for Android version 45 gets custom tabs, improved media playback controls and more


Google Chrome Beta for Android has been updated to version 45 with a bunch of new features. The mobile browser is getting custom tabs, media playback tweaks and more.

First up is custom tabs that allows developers to customize the look and feel of the Chrome browser when launched by clicking a web URL inside an app. It offers a way for other apps to securely access your saved logins, passwords, and autofill information from Chrome. Next up, Chrome has received a refreshed bookmarks user interface. Other features include updated media playback controls, better logging for feedback reports, bug fixes and performance improvements.

Chrome Beta was last updated in June with the feature to pause unimportant Flash content to boost battery life of your device. Prior to this, Chrome received Material Design along with improved sign-in update last month.
