TAG Heuer partners with Google and Intel for its Android Wear-powered luxury smartwatch

TAG Heuer, Swiss luxury watch maker today announced its partnership with Google and Intel for a luxury smartwatch with Intel technology powered by Android Wear platform, as expected. This was announced at the Baselworld 2015 conference in Switzerland.

The smartwatch will be manufactured and assembled in Switzerland. It will be luxurious and seamlessly connected to its wearer’s daily life—a culmination of innovation, creativity and design from Silicon Valley in California and the Watch Valley in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, said the company.

TAG Heuer did not show the design or the features of the smartwatch. It will introduce it in the fourth quarter of 2015. It also announced a special tie-up with DJ David Guetta.

At the announcement, Jean-Claude Biver, President of the Watch Division LVMH Group, said;

Swiss watchmaking and Silicon Valley is a marriage of technological innovation with watchmaking credibility. Our collaboration provides a rich host of synergies, forming a win-win partnership, and the potential for our three companies is enormous.
